iPhone 17 Pro, finally Reverse Charging?

Will the next iPhone finally be able, like its competitors, to share its battery to wirelessly charge other devices that are short of power?

There was a time when Apple was a source of inspiration for its competitors, but the Californian company is still lagging behind on certain features today, for example the ability for the iPhone to act as a battery to charge other devices, wirelessly, via Reverse Charging mode.

False start in 2019 for Reverse Charging on the iPhone 12££££

Rumors about this were already circulating in 2019, and a ersatz of the function had appeared on the iPhone 12, but nothing very substantial. In any case, Apple is working on the subject, and Reverse Charging could finally arrive on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max next fall. This is according to Chinese leaker Instant Digital.

Reverse Charging still in development at Apple, for the iPhone 17 Pro ?££££

So Apple is reportedly testing 7.5W wireless charging for the iPhone 17 Pro, which could power accessories like AirPods, Apple Watch, and maybe even a new MagSafe battery pack. The iPhone 15 and later models can charge other devices, but only via USB-C and at 4.5 watts. So we're keeping our fingers crossed this year, knowing that Apple's testing won't necessarily result in the said feature being made available.
