Nintendo Switch 2, Ultra HD 4K definition via Upscaling confirmed££££
Thus, an archive from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission in the United States) recently unearthed by the site Tweaktown details the [abc]Upscaling[/abc] process that the console will use. The latter takes advantage of artificial intelligence algorithms (DLSS process signed by nVidia) to improve the sharpness of an image as if it had been initially drawn in the displayed resolution (when it wasn't). It has been known for a while that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be capable of Upscaling, and even that French engineers participated in the development of this system. The FCC document gives examples, mentioning the transformation of 540p to [abc]1080p[/abc] (Full HD), and of [abc]720p[/abc] to [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]4K[/abc].
Nintendo Switch 2, graphical upgrade of games from older consoles ?££££
The first example is interesting since nothing is released in a resolution as low as 540p today. This option will therefore likely be used for games from older consoles, the Switch being known as a platform for playing machines from another era (NES, Super NES, MegaDrive, etc.). Note that this document is from 2020 and the technical specifications have probably evolved since then.
