No USB-C port on iPhone 17 Air?

The new ultra-thin iPhone could have been devoid of a charging port, but that won't happen, even though Apple hasn't ruled out such a development in the near future.

In 2021, we were already hearing about the arrival of an iPhone completely devoid of buttons and ports, making it completely waterproof but dependent on connectivity and wireless charging. A dream that Apple cherishes and which could have manifested itself on the next iPhone 17 Air.

Soon iPhones without any ports?££££

This is what Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reveals, claiming that Apple would have seriously considered removing the [abc]USB[/abc]-C port on this new ultra-thin model. However, the fear of being slapped on the wrist (once again) by European legislation would have put paid to this idea.

Nevertheless, the idea is still in the air, and according to Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air is a foretaste of future very thin models without charging ports. Indeed, these ports have an incompressible thickness, and removing them would further reduce the size of the devices. If the iPhone 17 Air is successful, Apple could quickly evolve its smartphones in this direction.
