iPhone 17 selfie camera boosted to 24MP

The selfie cameras on all iPhone 17s coming next year should see a significant improvement over previous models.

In early 2024, while the iPhone 16s were still rumored, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was already talking about the iPhone 17 range, claiming that it would be equipped with a 24-megapixel lens for its selfie camera.

A prediction that seems to be confirmed since another well-informed analyst, Jeff Pu, recently corroborated his colleague's words. As a reminder, the selfie cameras on the iPhone 16s are still 12-megapixel versions. This move to a 24 Mpxls sensor is therefore pleasing since it will allow for superior image sharpness to be maintained even when photos are cropped afterward, or captured in low light.

The analyst confirms in passing other rumors about the iPhone 17 such as the RAM memory which would display 12 GB, a 48 Mpxls telephoto lens for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max (or Ultra?) and the respective A19 and A19 Pro processors engraved in 3 nanometers.
