The exclusive use of magnesium is not the only new feature of the Focal Bathys MG. Bluetooth 5.1 compatibility gives way to [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] 5.2, still multipoint with management of SBC, AAC, APT-X and APT-X Adaptive codecs.
Focal Bathys MG, Hi-Fi and travel headphones££££
In addition to wireless sources, the headphones have a wired mode with USB-Dac mode for a resolution of up to 192 kHz/24 bits. For this purpose, two cables are supplied: mini-Jack 1.2 m and USB-C 1.2 meters.
On the sound side, we note speakers made in France in Saint-Étienne, equipped with a 40 mm M-profile dome, 100% magnesium. For noise reduction, two modes are available: Silent for loud ambient noise (plane, train, etc.) and Soft for concentration at home or in the office. Also worth noting is a Transparency mode to perceive your surroundings and the Clear Voice Capture process for always intelligible telephone conversations. The Focal Bathys MG also has a total of eight microphones.
Focal Bathys MG, ergonomics and comfort££££
With the Focal Bathys MG headphones, comfort is also a priority via memory foam ear cushions covered in leather. The aluminum headband is also covered in genuine leather. The Focal Bathys MG is controlled via the Focal & Naim app or using the buttons located below the right earpiece. Lastly, it is possible to illuminate the Focal logo, the flame on the sides of the earpieces. It is also worth mentioning the integrated Alexa voice assistant and the Works with Hey Google certification.
Battery life is more than 30 hours in Bluetooth mode with active noise cancellation activated, 35 hours in wired 3.5 mm mini-Jack mode and 42 hours in USB-Dac mode, and fast charging offers 5 additional hours of listening time for 15 minutes of charging. Lastly, the Focal Bathys MG headphones come with their carrying case (see photo below).
