YouTube could overtake Disney this year

More profitable than multimedia giants, YouTube could eventually become the default platform for consuming content.

According to veteran Wall Street analyst Michael Nathanson, YouTube's revenue is expected to surpass that of the giant Disney this year. After raking in more than $54 billion last year, YouTube is on track to become number one by the end of 2025.

YouTube, the future essential advertising medium?££££

According to the Nielsen institute, YouTube's audience eclipses that of its competitors, allowing this former "ugly duckling" to continue its climb to the skies. If YouTube were an independent company, its value would be worth a third of its parent company Alphabet, which also owns Google. According to Nathanson, YouTube is becoming a key player for "selling advertising in the living room," given that more and more of its users are watching the platform on the family television. Recently, there are now more YouTube viewers on TV than on mobile.

YouTube is thus well positioned to become THE platform for all things video, notably thanks to the growth of its YouTube Premium, YouTube Music, YouTube TV and Primetime channels, not to mention the infinite potential of independent creators who bring YouTube to life.
