Apple has been working on this for over ten years, and we were even talking about it in 2021: an all-glass iPhone for a seamless feel, with a screen that extends in all directions, even covering the entire surface of the device, including the back and sides.
The project is clearly still relevant, as the company was recently granted a patent for such technology, which could apply to the iPhone, but also to the Apple Watch and the Mac Pro. With such a screen, the displayed content could extend in all directions and icons could slide from one side of the iPhone to the other, allowing content to scroll across all surfaces.
The patent also mentions edges that could be slightly deformed to simulate the touch of a button. Indeed, an all-glass device would lack "normal" buttons. Naturally, let's remember that a patent is not formal proof of the arrival of a product, even if it gives an idea of what is going on behind the scenes, usually secret, of a major manufacturer.
