Netflix is testing a new content recommendation algorithm powered by artificial intelligence on users in Australia and New Zealand.
The new algorithm, which apparently uses technology developed by OpenAI, recommends new movies and series to subscribers based on factors such as viewing history, ratings of other titles, time of day, preferred languages, and the devices used to watch content.

"We believe generative AI has enormous potential to further improve our recommendation and discovery systems," Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters said last summer. We want to make it even easier for people to find an amazing story that's perfectly tailored to what they're looking for at that moment."
Subscribers have the option to choose between the old recommendation system or this new algorithm, which will soon be rolled out to the rest of the world after its testing period.
