There have been rumors about Sony returning to the portable console market for a while now. And the supposed "PlayStation portable" was back in the news in mid-April via a leak revealing its suspected technical specifications.
PS6 portable, backward compatible with PS5 games££££
The same leaker, KeplerL2 on the Neogaf forum, more recently provided more details, explaining that the future Playstation portable and the PS5 share a level of compatibility that would allow PS5 games to run as is on this new console, with minimal work for developers. However, knowing that the PlayStation portable will be less powerful than the PS5 due to lower memory bandwidth, games will require optimization to maintain a decent fluidity.
